Watermark Books- Watermark East has a knowledgeable staff and a high quality selection of new books, with a few collectibles here and there. The food and coffee are excellent as well. I usually go for the Tarragon Chicken Salad sandwich with Bruschetta and Greens.

Watermark West- I would live here if I could, but I don't think Phil would let me. Hands down my favorite bookshop in Kansas. By appointment only. "Watermark West specialize in first edition British & American Literature of the 19th and 20th centuries and the History of the American West. We maintain a particularly strong stock of material pertaining to the History of Kansas."

Al's Old & New Book Store- A family owned and operated bookstore that has been a Wichita institution for years.  Go visit Anita and Ben at the shop, were you will be sure to find some vintage treasures alongside an excellent selection of Kansas History and Technical Reference volumes.  "Al’s Old and New Book Store has been in its present location for the last 32 years serving Wichita’s needs for used, rare, and out of print books.  The store has now been under new management for five years and is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 am to 5 pm."
